About the Role

Are you a highly motivated health professional with a passion for education, scientific rigor, and cutting-edge technology? PAN International is seeking a Nutrition Knowledge Specialist to join our dynamic and globally-minded team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in upholding the scientific integrity of all our educational materials while collaborating across international teams to develop world-class learning experiences about food systems, human health, and climate change. We are looking for an individual who is not only excellent at creating materials for a medical and health expert audience, but also enthusiastically embraces online collaboration and leverages the power of artificial intelligence tools to enhance content creation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure Scientific Integrity: Act as the primary guardian of scientific accuracy, clinical relevance, and ethical standards across all medical content developed by PAN. This includes meticulous review, fact-checking, and validation of information from diverse sources.

Global Content Development: Partner with multidisciplinary teams located across various time zones and regions to conceptualise, design, and develop engaging and effective health courses, learning modules, presentations, position papers, fact sheets and other educational materials.

Content Strategy & Curation: Contribute to the strategic planning and curation of medical content, identifying emerging trends, knowledge gaps, and educational needs within relevant therapeutic areas. The primary target audience for these resources would be our global healthcare professional community who are interested in learning more about nutrition, lifestyle medicine and planetary health.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with internal teams (e.g., communications, community, medical content and fundraising) and external subject matter experts, key opinion leaders, and medical writers.

Technology-Forward Approach: Champion the use of online collaboration platforms, virtual meeting tools, and learning management systems to facilitate efficient content development and delivery, including PANCO, PAN International’s community learning platform hosted on MightyNetworks.

AI Tool Utilisation: Proactively explore and implement AI-powered tools (e.g., for research assistance, content generation/summarization, quality assurance, personalisation) to optimise workflows, enhance content quality, and innovative learning solutions.

Feedback Integration: Incorporate feedback from medical experts, learners, and internal stakeholders to continuously refine and improve content.

Key Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Preferably Medical Doctor or Dietitian with strong nutritional research background, or MSc in nutritional science (preferably PhD).

  • Preferably authored publications in credible scientific journals.

  • Experience working within the nonprofit sector, global health, food security, or climate change.

  • Good understanding of the connections between human health, food systems, and climate change.

    Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good teaching skills (especially in the field of nutrition and nutritional medicine) and knowledge of teaching / learning methodology

  • Ability to present complex topics in an easy-to-digest structure for a variety of formats (blog articles, podcasts, factsheets, videos, social media)

  • Ability to adapt content and your writing style to different target groups including medical professionals and the general public

  • Proficiency in digital tools for learning management with a willingness to adapt to new tools.

  • Strong organisational skills and time management skills.
