Dr. Roberta Alessandrini
Director Dietary Guidelines Initiative
Dr. Roberta Alessandrini is a nutrition scientist dedicated to promoting plant-based diets to enhance human health, protect animals, and combat climate change. She holds a PhD in Public Health Nutrition from Queen Mary University of London. Her research focuses primarily on the nutritional aspects of alternative proteins.
Roberta’s extensive professional experience spans health policy, academia, NGOs, and community nutrition. As Director of the Dietary Guidelines Initiative (DGI), she leads efforts to make Food-Based Dietary Guidelines more plant-forward and environmentally sustainable, contributing to the transformation of global food system
