Brazil
Founded in 2023, PAN Brasil brings together physicians, health professionals, medical students, universities, hospitals and partner organisations to advance nutrition as a cornerstone of disease prevention, clinical care and planetary health.
Their work combines education, implementation and advocacy through a range of flagship initiatives, including:
PANCO (PAN Community Online): a global learning and healthcare community platform connecting health professionals and students with evidence-based resources, courses, webinars and collaborative projects.
Green Food Experience: hands-on educational events for medical students that demonstrate how healthy, plant-forward meals can support human and planetary health.
Healthy Hospital Food: support for hospitals and healthcare institutions in creating healthier, more sustainable food environments for patients, staff and visitors.
Food is Medicine & Culinary Medicine: promoting nutrition as an essential part of healthcare through practical education, culinary medicine initiatives and partnerships with medical schools.
Public Policy & Advocacy: engaging with policymakers, professional associations and civil society to strengthen nutrition in healthcare, promote healthy food environments and support evidence-informed policies.
Across all programmes, PAN Brasil promotes dietary patterns centred on minimally processed, predominantly plant-based foods, recognising their role in preventing and managing chronic diseases while contributing to climate resilience, biodiversity protection and more sustainable food systems.
As part of the global PAN network, PAN Brasil collaborates with national and international partners to accelerate the integration of nutrition into healthcare systems and to advance the One Health approach, recognising the interconnected health of people, animals and the environment.
